This book caught my attention and I liked it so much that I am now almost half through the next one. I think that should say it all, good book, reading the second and planning on the third.

Slip has many strengths, but I was especially impressed by the character development. I felt like I understood the motives of all the characters and I could understand why the main character considered his friends like family. I loved all their different personalities. In addition, the author did a good job explaining why his father did what he had to do so that his son could survive and the impact of his actions on his family.

I find it hard, most times, to stick with an author because I’m pretty easily bored. Mr. Estes definitely is an exception and has me hooked, though. Action-packed, surprises throughout, dystopian–all ingredients for a great book! On to Grip!
