Horse breeding just ain't what it used to be. There's always been ornery mares, ornery customers, and well, stallions.

But FE Booker has sworn off the human counterparts of the latter and is the epitome of the modern independent business woman. Until that is, it all falls apart.

Tack thieves, horse thieves and heart thieves all raise their heads at once and it appears that she has to build even higher, the walls she has constructed around herself all her life.

It takes a forced hiatus from her work for her to discover that all along she's gotten by with a little help from friends, old and new and if she just lets go a little she can find happiness in the arms of the person she most resists.

Love, horse breeding and petty thievery. Not necessarily in that order.

Even though I am not a horse person (just an animal lover in general) I loved this book. I found what I didn’t know about the horse business very interesting and did almost read the book in one session. Truly I didn’t want it to end!

This book is a good read. Even if you are not a horse person this is a nice story that catches and keeps your interest throughout. I was torn between anxiousness to find out how the story ended and savoring the story.

I really enjoyed In Season as it was a fun read with fun and colorful characters. I highly recommend this book for those intersted in horses, suspense and fun people. A great way to spend a rainy afternoon or day at the beach.

In Season’s author obviously knows horses, but she doesn’t let her knowledge get in the way of a good yarn. Just when you think you can predict what will happen next in this fast-paced tale, Ms. Wible gives her yarn a twist, and there you go, turning pages and laughing out loud as the story gallops on with the reader in hot pursuit.
