“The book is filled with great characters and an enjoyable storyline that will leave you wanting more.” -A. Brantley

Aspiring college athlete Aileen Nessa is finding the recruiting process beyond daunting.

Being ranked #10 in the world for the 100m hurdles at the age of eighteen is not a fluke, even though she believes that one race, where everything clinked magically together, might be.

American universities don't seem to think so. Letters are pouring in from all over the country.

As she faces the challenge of differentiating between a college's genuine commitment to her or just empty promises from talent-seeking coaches, Aileen heads to Gatica State University, a Division One school, on a recruiting trip.

The university's athletic program boasts one of the top sprint coaches in the country. The beautiful old buildings on campus and Ivy League smarts seems so above her little Ohio town upbringing.

All Aileen needs to convince her to sign her letter of intent is a recruiting trip that takes her breath away.

Tyler Jensen is the school's NCAA champion in the hurdles and Jim Thorpe recipient for top defensive back in football.

His incredible ocean blue eyes and confident smile make Aileen stutter and forget why she is visiting GSU.

His offer to take her under his wing, should she choose to come to Gatica, is a temping proposition that has her wondering if she might be making a deal with an angel or the devil himself.

“A captivating, deeply authentic memoir of a devastating illness and a heroic recovery.” -Carol Cassella, bestselling author

Rebooting My Brain is the true story of what happens when you get yanked out of your life by a crisis―and have to get back on the ride all over again.

With refreshing candor, Maria Ross shares how the relentless pace of her life came to a screeching halt when an undetected brain aneurysm ruptured and nearly killed her.

Along her stubborn road back to health, her resulting cognitive and emotional challenges forced her―sometimes kicking and screaming―to reframe her life, her work and her identity.

With humor and heart, Ross shares what it was like being blind for six weeks, how a TV crime drama and a brain-games website played key roles in her recovery, and why a handmade necklace helped her regain her sense of self.

Ross reveals the keys to her extraordinary comeback and how her perspective is forever changed, mostly for the better.

Funny, touching and real, this book not only shares an inspirational story of transformation but reveals the surprising effects of brain injury…and explores the question, "How do our brains define who we are?"

Spiritual Growth- Trusting God

We, as humans, go through seasons in our lives as God works, grows, and teaches us.

I personally believe I do my best writing when I write about what is currently going on around me—when I write about a season that I am currently in.

In this particular case, I knew I was in the midst of a season of learning to trust God in a BIG way.

He was challenging and testing me, seeing what I wanted to do. Ultimately I had to make a decision.

Fortunately, that decision was to follow God in whatever direction He pointed me in, even though it required a massive amount of trust.

We as Christians need to understand the importance of trust and all that it entails.

This means learning both the requirements and ramifications of fully committing to God.

Sure, we love the idea of faith, but what do we really do when the going gets tough?

When the finances stop flowing, our relationships are struggling, or our health isn't perfect, what do we do? Do we trust God, or do we begin to back away and blame Him?

The truth is that it's incredibly easy to trust the Lord when the waters are calm, when everything around us is going well.

But the true test of our relationship with Him comes when the storm hits, when the waves crash down on us and everything is out of control.

This is when it is the most crucial that we run to Him and trust that His plan is better than ours.

It is not easy. It will require you to become weak. However, that's the beauty of Christ. For when I am weak, He is strong.

Sabrina Larson wants her fortieth birthday to be a major milestone—the beginning of a new life. But it looks more like the end for the Boulder, Colorado nurse when she mysteriously disappears while celebrating with her women’s group in a mountain wilderness area.

Search teams comb the region for days, but find no trace of her. Close friends and family fight bitterly amongst themselves telling different stories about what happened. Is she dead? Kidnapped? A runaway?

Cleo Sims, a local grief therapist who has discovered a process that lets grieving people contact the spirits of departed loved ones, is pulled in to help by one of Sabrina’s friends who is desperate to find out the truth. Cleo is reluctant to involve herself in yet another possible murder investigation, but the friend’s brother is Cleo’s benefactor who funds her Contact Project. When he prevails on Cleo to help find out what happened to the missing woman, she can’t refuse.

As the search goes on and the mystery deepens, Cleo finds herself digging into some dangerous secrets. As usual, her persistence, curiosity, and compassion keep her enmeshed in the investigation even when new developments threaten the very core of her personal life.

Too Many Secrets is the third book in the award-winning Cleo Sims mystery series set in the mountain community of Boulder Colorado. Like the others, it can also be read as a stand-alone book.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

This rich mystery plot had me guessing all the way to the end. The descriptive detail helped me visualize each character and made the book all the more interesting.

*******

A compelling mystery, convincing characters, a touch of the supernatural, interesting setting and a likeable female lead made this an enjoyable read. Lynn Osterkamp kept me caring about Cleo's personal struggles and guessing about the outcome of the mystery until the end.

*******

I would recommend this novel for readers who love mysteries, especially mysteries with a great female lead. However, even if you’re not a mystery lover, this book is well-written and entertaining!

*******

Love love love this book and the others that came before! Thank you so much for the journey and your clear descriptions. I felt like I was there inside the story but not bogged down by redundancy…again, thank you for writing this book..and hurry up and publish more soon…I’m kind of addicted.

*******

As in Osterkamp’s first two Cleo books, the twists and turns in Too Many Secrets, and the characters wandering through them, are cleverly combined. Besides, who wouldn’t welcome a session in Cleo’s apparition chamber? I was again way off base when I thought I knew who did it.

When Joe and his girlfriend Joy decide to trade in their life on a cold Lancashire fish market to run a bar in the Tenerife sunshine, they anticipate a paradise of sea, sand and siestas.

Little did they expect their foreign fantasy to turn out to be about as exotic as a wet Monday morning.

Amidst a host of eccentric locals, homesickness and the occasional cockroach infestation, pint-pulling novices Joe and Joy struggle with the expat culture and learn that, although the skies might be bluer, the grass is definitely not always greener.

An hilarious travelogue exposing the wild and wacky characters of an expat community in a familiar holiday destination, More Ketchup than Salsa is full of humor and is a must-read travel memoir for anybody who has ever dreamed about moving abroad, finding a job overseas or even momentarily flirted with the idea of ‘doing a Shirley Valentine’ in these trying economic times.
