“McKade enthralls readers with a story big in impact that takes your breath away with its intense emotions and insight into the human heart.” -Kathe Robin, Romantic Times

“How could I refuse the wish of a dying man?” “During the War, I watched over too many young boys in the hospital, comforting them as they cried out for those they loved, as they whispered their final thoughts to me.

Keeping a record of their names, families, and last words seemed a small tribute to their sacrifice – until the war ended, and I found a new mission in life.” “I would visit the loved ones of those poor soldiers and deliver their messages so that some comfort could be found even in grief …”

But Laurel Covey never expected to find a man like Creede Forrester – an ex-gunslinger who rode all the way from Texas to Virginia in the hope of finding his son and ended up saving her from a band of ruffians. It pains her deeply to tell him of his boy's death, and she believes that in his heart, Creede blames himself for driving his son away.

But there is something more to this rugged, weary man. Something that draws Laurel close to him … something she cannot resist …

The business of love is dangerous. For Jennifer Kent, a recent MBA graduate who has been searching for work in Manhattan for four long months, time and money are running out. If she doesn't find work soon, she'll need to return to her native Maine, where the job situation is even more bleak.

And where her abusive parents lie in wait. But when an unorthodox arrangement is proposed, Jennifer decides to take it. She agrees to be the "girlfriend" of Alexander Wenn, the reluctant, billionaire CEO of Wenn Enterprises, who is so devastatingly good looking, he needs a beautiful woman like Jennifer on his arm to "keep the wolves at bay."

In this case, the wolves are other women, all of whom vie for his attention so aggressively, they keep him from focusing on business at the exclusive events he must attend. It’s there that deals are cut. What they want is his money and his power. Damaged by a past event, the only thing Alex wants to do is focus on work. And to forget the past.

But can Jennifer deny their white-hot chemistry? As she's swept into this glittering otherworld of society and big business, she finds herself struggling to keep from falling for Alex, an almost impossible feat she nevertheless must meet.

Armed with her MBA, Jennifer Kent knows about business. But what she doesn’t know is what could destroy her–the business of protecting her own heart. And maybe her own life.

Amazon Bestselling Author

They say the world used to turn. They say that night would follow day in an endless dance. They say that dawn rose, dusk fell, and we worshiped both sun and stars.

That was a long time ago.

The dance has died. The world has fallen still. We float through the heavens, one half always in light, one half always in shadow. Like the moth of our forests, one wing white and the other black, we are torn.

My people are the fortunate. We live in daylight, blessed in the warmth of the sun. Yet across the line, the others lurk in eternal night, afraid… and alone in the dark.

I was born in the light. I was sent into darkness. This is my story.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Everything by Daniel Arenson is always a fun read! He always creates fantastic alternate worlds for us to explore and enjoy!

*******

Moth immediately drew me in and the other day, when I glanced down and saw that I had hit 78% I wondered how that had happened, I was completely shocked that I was that far along. Moth pulled me in so completely that the reading of it went by in a blink. I found the pacing to be perfect, and don’t recall a slow moment within the book.

*******

Overall, this story has a wonderful moral, an enthralling epic journey and wonderfully written characters. Daniel writes perfect fantasy in the vein of Tolkien and doesn’t shy away from the gore, but provides us a lovely story which causes us to think. I loved it. His writing is wonderful and I can’t wait for more.

*******

Very enjoyable book! The writing flowed almost lyrically, at a comfortable pace, and I could clearly visualize the Author’s descriptions. I’m looking forward to the continuation of this story!

Eighteen-year-old Sage Hannigan wants to get back to her own time, preferably one that hasn't been destroyed by an underworld plot brewing in Edwardian-era South Carolina. How hard can it be?

All she has to do is:

1. Learn to use newly acquired warping skills to bend time to her will.
2. Take out a few rogue vampires.
3. Join an ancient secret society.
4. Figure out who is putting the time stream in jeopardy.
5. Find and maim whoever invented the corset.

Sage never asked to be chosen by the Druid Priestess, Amerach, to become a Warper and she never asked to have the future hanging on her shoulders or to warp a hundred years into the past. She certainly never asked to meet Dr. Aldwin Blake, who would make her question her desire to get back to her own time. But if she fails her mission, people will die, history will change, and the present she wishes to return to will be no more.

She often envied Zach’s calm, normal upbringing, and his lack of a haunting past.

She appreciated his constant support and dedication to her through all the horrible moments in her life. Rob Kensington is just your typical high school senior. Athletic, intelligent, handsome. Sees a therapist once a week. Because his parents just died in a house fire of questionable origin. And he doesn't seem to care. Maybe he isn't so typical. Sara Marsh had no clue when she returned to live with her divorced father that the bedroom down the hall would be occupied by a stray with a major attitude problem.

The last time she saw Rob, he was a brooding goth who could have passed as Marilyn Manson's love child. But at some point during her three years away, Creepy Kensington managed to evolve into a sizzling hot star running back with smoldering hazel eyes. The attraction is undeniable. The temptation is irresistible. And soon they're sharing more than just an address. But with another life lost in a deliberately set blaze, Sara's trust is faltering.

Has she lost her heart to a serial arsonist? He's already shown her the allure of playing with fire. And someone's about to get burned.

A young runaway takes refuge in a makeshift shack under the Hollywood Freeway, forcing the autistic woman in it to find milk for her sickly newborn – a search that ultimately ends in tragedy when the woman is run down by a hit-and-run driver after a violent confrontation with several teenagers.

When one of those teenagers, seventeen-year-old Karen Devane, is implicated in the woman's homicide, the tabloids are quick to exploit the tragedy, thanks to Karen's recent antics as a spoiled Tinseltown "celebrat" riding on the coattails of her famous grandmother, the legendary Kate Stanton.

Complicating matters is the dead woman's daughter, who's determined that Karen be held accountable for her mother's death, even after the charges against Karen are dropped. With tensions between Karen and her family near breaking point and the paparazzi relentlessly hounding her every move, Karen makes a startling discovery which finally puts her on the road to redemption – and links the dead woman to her beloved grandmother.

Karen's discovery raises a host of troubling questions for Kate, forcing her to revisit the horrors of her past in search of answers. But Kate soon realizes that some questions are better left unasked after a seemingly random shooting leaves her granddaughter fighting for her life and Kate scrambling to stay one step ahead of a killer who's determined to end her life in order to save his own.

When the first outbreaks occurred, the reports were quickly stifled. By the time the dead began to walk in Lansing, Michigan, it was already too late to stop the plague. In the heart of the city, a child with cancer and her caretaker risk their lives to help a security guard and a nurse secure an old hospital.

As the survivors struggle to stay alive, the grid begins to fail. All the while, the dead fight to get inside. As the world crumbles around them, Keith, Lindsey, Jack and a handful of other hospital employees fight to keep their patients alive. Will they work together and become a community or will it all fall apart as different personalities collide?

There is Eric Wapowski, the hospital security guard who is more of a hindrance than a help; Dr. Doune, brain surgeon and sociopath, who has been tasked with the job of researching the plague; and Autumn McAllister, a nine-year-old cancer patient who is old beyond her years.

When Snake and his gang of bikers find out about the hospital, will they want it for themselves? As the city is left to burn, will those that stay be able to make a stand against the ever-growing legion of dead closing in on them?

Dead, but Not for Long is sometimes dark, but there are moments of levity and a message of hope as well as a few surprises along the way. It is not a book about skilled fighters with state-of-the-art weapons, but ordinary people thrust into the darkest of circumstances. What will they do to stay alive?

The Shogun has been forced by the threat of Western firepower to re-open Japan to the outside world, while samurai outraged at this decision are scheming to topple the Shogunate and re-establish Imperial rule.

In parallel to this struggle, Britain and France are fighting by every means except open warfare to establish themselves as the leading influence on the government of Japan and secure the accompanying trading privileges.

Into this maelstrom steps Robert Seamus Milligan, a young British diplomat with a weakness for women and drink, who has joined the diplomatic service only to escape a contretemps back home. Upon his arrival in Japan and entirely against his will he is immediately plunged into the clash between Japan and the West, between the Shogunate and Imperial forces, and between Britain and France.

Milligan survives several real historical clashes plus a Royal Navy Commodore on the warpath, humiliation at the hands of a French spy, sex in the bath with a female Japanese aristocrat, life as a Satsuma samurai and a sumo bout against a homicidal maniac – thanks on more than one occasion to his Japanese servant, Miyazawa and with much more credit than he deserves.

Kara Magari is about to discover Ourea: a beautiful world full of terrifying things. A thousand years ago, an Ourean book of magic disappeared. Whoever breaks the seal on the cover will absorb its untamed power… although that supremacy is as much a curse as a gift. Sought after for centuries, the book—the Grimoire—has never been found.

That’s because the book has a mind of its own, and it has already chosen its master. It wants Kara. Like it or not, Kara belongs to the Grimoire. There's no escape, either—the only question is how long she'll endure against the chilling creatures she discovers.

In this world of magic and betrayal, Kara shouldn't trust anyone. But when a native soldier named Braeden vows to keep her safe, she drops her guard. Though she doesn't know it, her growing attraction to him may just be her undoing.

For twelve years, Braeden Drakonin has lived a lie. The Grimoire is his one chance at redemption, and it lands in his lap when Kara Magari comes into his life. Yet as he spends time with her, her charm begins to melt his resolve. He can't let that happen. Even though her touch makes his heart race, he's never known love. He doesn't plan on starting now. This is Ourea. Only the cunning survive.
